Baby Dedication - Friends

By Senegalese standards, it was a small party of only 70 or 80 people. Some came and left, and others came late, and some stayed the whole time. It started at 10:00 and the last guests left about 5:00. The hut on the roof was temporarily completed Friday evening, so we were able to use the roof and inside the house for hosting, though as the day grew hotter, the adults moved to the roof where there was a cool breeze blowing. The kids, about 12 of them, found plenty to do between the trampoline, swing, and all of Chase's toys. Following local custom, we hired two drummers (Christians) to play most of the day. This lets all the neighbors know that something special is going on.
