Preparing for Baby Caleb

We went to the hospital today for a check-up for Crystal (really, for Caleb), and while there we got to see the delivery room (actually, the check-up took place in the delivery room) and the regular hospital rooms for after delivery. We were very impressed! The delivery room was clean and spacious. The whole hospital smelled better than hospitals in the USA, and nurses and midwives were all very friendly. A baby was born while we were there for the check-up, and another was getting ready to be born. The doctor speaks some English, and even his French is easy for us to understand (French is a second language for him, too).
The first hospital room the nurse showed us was comparable to the room Crystal had after Chase was born, and though two patients stayed in the one room, it was larger. Then she took us to another room. This one had one bed, two lounge-type chairs, a coffee table, and a refrigerator, and it was pretty a pretty good sized room! 'Wow', we said, 'how does a person get one of these rooms?' The nurse said you just request it when you check in, and if one is available, you can have it. Then she showed us another room that was as nice as the first room, but only one bed/patient.
It was good for us to see some of the hospital. We both feel very good about it.
