Don't worry... we did finally have a birthday party for Caleb. We were waiting for Nana to bring the party supplies. We had a puppy party (since dogs are the main animal that Caleb knows). In attendance were Daddy, Mama, Chase, Nana, the Verlander's, Helene and Pierre, and Mariama. We had a great time. We had spaghetti for dinner, and while we were eating, the electricity went off. So, we had a candlelight dinner part of the time. We turned on the generator for gift opening, though, so Caleb could see really well while CHASE tried to open ALL of the presents! Sorry, Caleb. Really, he didn't seem to mind. He was interested in playing with everything and being the center of attention. Have we mentioned that Caleb is a people-person? Thank you to all of you who sent cards and gifts to make Caleb's first birthday very special.

What FUN it is to read your blog! It makes me feel like I was right there in Senegal! Happy very belated birthday, Caleb! And way to help him with the presents, Chase! You're such a good big brother! Blessings to all of you!
