Sunday evening, we passed by Astou and Edward's restaurant/boutique (in the background) to deliver Christmas gifts (they were gone to the village for a month and just returned). We gave them a Wolof New Testament, a tea set, and some cassette tapes of Old Testament stories in Wolof & Pulaar (they are actually Pulaar, not Wolof, but they speak Wolof fluently). Edward wasn't there, but Crystal talked to Astou for awhile and explained why we celebrate and give gifts at Christmas, using Scripture from the Wolof New Testament. Astou said that she thought we gave gifts in honor of Saint Claus! Now she knows the truth. We pray that someday she will know The Truth.January 19, 2007
