Where did September go?!?

Aside from dealing with the trash (there’s much more to the saga than the story below!), September was spent: recovering from vacation; working with a team of volunteers from Florida on a basketball camp; starting Wolof language classes (Chad); starting pre-preschool for Chase (Crystal); repairing our hut damaged by the wind; repairing various other things that had fallen apart during my two month absence (3 electrical outlets stopped working, the telephone could receive but not make calls, sink didn’t drain, lights burned out, flood damage on front of house, email didn’t work, etc); restocking the food supplies; hellos to new people and goodbye’s to friends leaving; seminary studies (Chad); continuing education (Crystal); illness (all of us, some multiple times); visiting neighbors;…and that’s just the short list. So, if you felt like we were out of touch after returning from vacation, we’ve just been too busy to sit down.
