Mephibosheth!

Chase is really learning his Bible stories, and we do a little quiz every now and then to make sure he remembers them. I like to do the quiz in front of friends and watch their faces! We start with the Garden of Eden. "Chase, who did God put in the Garden of Eden?" I ask. "Adam and Eve," he replies. We continue through the Bible, and our friends are mildly impressed. Then I get to my favorite question, "Who was Jonathan's son that King David adopted?" When Chase answers, "Mephibosheth," our friends faces have a priceless look of surprise! The story of Mephibosheth's 'adoption' into King David's family, though generally unknown among adults, appears in many children's Bibles.
