Several people have asked where we got the name Caleb Elijah. Our criteria for choosing a name is that we wanted to stick with the CER initials for boys (and CLR for girls). We also want names that have meaning, just like Chase's coming from his grandfathers (Charles Edward).
'Caleb' came from Joshua 14:6-14, specifically verse 9 which reads, "...the land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly."
'Elijah' came from 1Kings 17-19, specifically verse 17:24 which reads, "The woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth."
The verses are my prayer for Caleb - that he would follow the Lord wholeheartedly and that he would be a man of God who speaks the truth of the word of the Lord.
