While at orientation, we spent a day in Washington DC. We had assignments to complete while there (such as riding the metro/subway, eating at ethnic restaurants, etc.), but we managed to have some fun, too! We met up with my good friend Rami at a Senegalese restaurant. He showed us around town and even helped us with our assignments. We enjoyed our short time with Rami, and look forward to seeing him again someday.
Chase enjoyed the excursion, too. He charmed the girl running the flower-shop at Union Station, and she gave him two carnations. He entertained a man at an ice-cream stand, and he gave Chase a little cup of ice-cream. And he caught the attention of a policeman who gave him a 'junior police officer' badge. I think he is going to do very well in Senegal!
